บทคัดย่อ: The study of potential of Convolvulaceae and Fabaceae crops was aimed to study the appropriate crops for using as soil and water conservation. The study are conducted into two experiments as 1) surveying the available of Convolvulaceae and Fabaceae crops scattering in Thailand and 2) studying and testing the samples of Convolvulaceae and Fabaceae crops for utilization. The experiments were conducted between January 2015 and October 2017. The results showed that there are 23 crop samples collected and they showed the possibility to fulfill desirable characteristics when they are planted with the vetiver. These would be appropriated for soil and water conservation. The five selected crops from the nursery and field plots testing of surveyed crops were continuing testing for selecting the most appropriate crop growth with the vetiver interms of better improving soil properties of 5 cropping patterns: 1) Vetiver alone [Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty] 2) Vetiver with Arachis pintoi 3) Vetiver with Calopogonium caeruleum 4) Vetiver with Pueraria phaseoloides และ 5) Vetiver with [Evolvulus nummularius (L.)] were analysed for comparing crop growth and some soil properties.The resulted showed that cropping patterns had significantly different (p< 0.01) in soil properties which the patterns of growing vetiver with Convolvulaceae or Fabaceae Crops had better soil properties than vetiver alone pattern. The pattern of vetiver with [Evolvulus nummularius (L.)] showed the highest quantity of the biggest soil particle size distribution (8.0 - 2.0 mm.) This simultaneously showed in mean weight diameter, aggregate stability, bulk density and soil moisture content.
