บทคัดย่อ (EN): In Thailand, the area of rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) production is in southern part because of suitable climate. Most of planting materials also are produced in this region. However, recent evidence has revealed anomalous fluctuation of climate in southern Thailand. Therefore, the effect of climate variability on planting material production was investigated in Songkhla province. Meteorological date in Songkhla province during 33 years (1981 – 2013) was analyzed to exhibit climate variability scenario. It was found that maximum and minimum temperature trended to increase to 0.028 ºC/y and +0.031 ºC/y, respectively. Annual rainfall and rainy days also trended to increase 22.51 mm/year and 0.87 d/y, respectively. It was evident that summer rain during flowering period induced the epidemic of Oidium leaf fall disease which destroyed leaf, inflorescence and fruit of rubber. In 2012 only 50% of flowering shoot showed fruit setting. The average fruits per flowering shoot was only 2.18 fruits, however, they entirely dropped within 3 weeks. This will be a limitation of planting material production because of rootstock lacking.
