บทคัดย่อ (EN): Up to 2006, the area of rubber plantations belonging to Vietnam General Rubber Corporation (Geruco) has reached 217.674 ha of which 172.278 ha are being exploited for latex [1]. Such rubber plantation area stretchers from Eastern South Vietnam to Western Highlands and Central Vietnam, on those regions with different ecological conditions and, consequently, the growth and yield of different plantations are also varied depending on the environmental conditions. The yield of Geruco’s rubber plantations has gradually increased from 0.7 ton/ha/year in the 1990s to the average yield of 1.73 tons/ha/year in 2005, with that of 1.82 tons/ha/year in Eastern South Vietnam. Geruco has 5 companies reaching the average yield of over 1.9 tons/ha and more than 20 collective farms reaching that of 2 tons/ha [2]. To have the above achievements, in addition to the contributions of such correct guidelines as rehabilitating old uneconomic rubber plantations with high yielding planting materials; shortening the rubber exploitation duration; and effective of latex theft prevention; the contributions of scientific & technical measures taken (a) in planting material provisions; (b) in intensive investment during the earlier years of immature period; (c) in effective disease treatment & prevention; and (d) in applying scientific & technical methods to the mature plantations, as presented herein below, have played a most important role in enhancing the quality and yield of different plantations
