บทคัดย่อ (EN): Price of natural rubber (NR) has increased beyond predictions. Now the international price is nearly 2.0 $ increase in demand for NR is expected to continue. The present consumption of NR is around 8.0 million metric tones. According to Dr. Hidde P Smit, Secretary General, IRSG the consumption is expected to increase to over 13 million tones by the year 2020. It is high time that NR producing countries chalk out programmers to increase in NR production to take advantage of the situation. Rethinking on the existing cultural practices is essential in view of the high price of NR. Some important points to be considered by the NR producing countries are discussed.
