บทคัดย่อ (EN): Conversion from forest to cultivated land may result in altering plant nutrient status in soils. The purpose of this study was to investigate distribution of phosphorus (P), potassium (K) and magnesium (Mg) as influenced by land use changes. Soil samples were collected in the dry season of March 2016 from 5 soil depths, i.e. 0-15, 15-30, 30-60, 60-80, and 80-100 cm under three land uses, including paddy, cassava, and deciduous dipterocarp forest lands. The sampling site was located in the Donwhan sub-district, Muang district, Maha Sarakham province. The air-dried soils were extracted by Bray II extractant, color development was performed using the Murphy and Railey method, and P contents in soil solution were determined using a spectrophotometer. For determining exchangeable K and Mg, the soils were extracted by ammonium acetate pH 7.0, and K and Mg contents in the soil solution were determined employing an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results showed that available P and exchangeable K contents in topsoils (0-15 cm) were higher than in subsoils (15-100 cm), while Mg contents between the top and subsoils showed no significant differences. In the topsoils, P content in cultivated soil was higher than forest soil, while K and Mg contents were higher in forest land than the cultivated land, which is disturbed by agricultural practices such as tillage.
