บทคัดย่อ (EN): Rapid increase in the demand of Natural Rubber(NR) caused expansion of the rubber plantation in Thailand at a very fast rate to non-traditional and unsuitable areas with limiting conditions. These plantations produced lower yield, and needed more special management. This resulted in high cost of production. At the same time there is rapid increase of palm oil domestic consumption. Therefore, it is not surprising to see many rubber plantations switch to invest in oil palms now. Now it is feared that these may also expand to unsuitable areas. The objective of the study is to develop a methodology for the decision maker to replace non-suitable crop by the suitable crop. In this study the case of rubber and oil palm is considered. This was done by mean of GIS and multi-factor evaluation. Analytical Hierarchical Processing (AHP) and Pairwise Comparison Method were used for factor weighting. The results have shown that, there are about 9,839 ha having high potential production for palm oil but lowest production for rubber latex. On the other hand, it is also found that the area of low potential production for palm oil but highest potential production for Rubber, comprise about 4,018 ha. The models developed on the study were analyzed and tested. Maps of Crop Suitability were generated.
