บทคัดย่อ (EN): Wood production and lumber recovery of 18 years old, 4 recommended rubber clones, i.e. RRIM 600, BPM 24, RRIT 251 and PB 235 planted in Krabi Oil Palm Research Center, Krabi province were used to study at Surat Thani Rubber Research Center during March-December 2008. The objectives were 1) to study wood production 2) to estimate wood fresh weight as a function of girth, and 3) to observe lumber recovery of rubber wood. In the nearly size of trunk girth, the PB 235 clone showed total wood fresh weight higher than those of the RRIM 600, BPM 24 and RRIT 251 approximately 12 %, but PB 235 gave more 2 times for logs which have diameter > 6 inch than the other clones. In the present study relationships were worked out with girth at 170 cm above ground level. The equations fitted of power regression and total fresh weight, linear and log fresh weight which have diameter > 6 inch, exponential and log fresh weight which have diameter < 6 inch were found to be reliable for wood fresh weight estimation in all clones. Lumber recovery is a percentage of sawntimber volume per log volume before sawing. The lumber recovery of RRIT 251 was greater than those of RRIM 600 and PB 235, respectively. While, lumber recovery of BPM 24 was least comparing with the other clones due to many knots. Positive correlation between log size and lumber recovery was found. From the correlations between log diameter and sawntimber or slab, the results showed higher proportion of slab comparing with sawntimber in the small log, conversely slab was lower than sawntimber in the big log (diameter >11 inch).
