บทคัดย่อ (EN): The aim of this paper was attempted to summarize the effect of protein level on feed intake and nutrient digestion of purebred and crossbred Brahman beef cattle. The data from two digestion trials and two feeding trials were used. In the first experiment, four purebred beef bulls about 2 years old were used in a 4 x 4 Latin square design. Their initial body weight was 151.3 + 13.2 kg (mean + standard deviation). In the experiment II, four purebred beef bulls about 4 years old were used in a 4 x 4 Latin square design. Their initial body weight was 258 + 35 kg (mean + standard deviation). In the third experiment, sixteen crossbred Brahman heifers were used in a randomized completed block design. The initial body weight was 258 + 29 kg (mean + SD). The experiment was lasted for 120 days. In the fourth experiment, sixteen crossbred Brahman heifers with average body weight of 310 + 10.2 kg (mean + SE) were used in a randomized complete block design. The experimental period was lasted for 120 days. In all experiment, animals were fed dietary crude protein (CP) levels of 8.0, 10.0, 12.0 and 14.0% with similar amounts of metabolizable energy (2.6 Mcal per kg of dry matter) at 3.0% body weight (BW) as dry matter (DM) intake except in the fourth experiment, animals were fed ad libitum. Based on the experimental data, it was clearly showed that protein level did not alter feed intake and nutrient digestion.
