บทคัดย่อ (EN): In response to the increasing prices of rubber and to the advocacy of the Department of Agriculture to expand rubber plantations and to improve production systems in the Philippines, the JDM88 Agro-Ventures invested in rubber and applied the JDM88 SMART Farming Basics in its farm operations in the Arakan Valley, Cotabato, Philippines. The farm operations were documented and the data gathered included records of farm operations, soil chemical properties in various locations of the farm, and the growth performance measured by girth size. The rubber trees are expected to be harvested in 3.5 to 4 years after planting. The focus of the JDM88 is on fertilization using balanced plant nutrition and the use of effective microorganisms. Rubber can grow and will attain the genetic potential even in marginal sloping lands by understanding the different farming models in sloping land and fusion of soil conservation efforts and good agricultural practices. The JDM88 rubber based farming system could very well serve as a model for a sustainable rubber production in the Philippines.
