บทคัดย่อ (EN): The purpose of this research was to study the opinions of stakeholders about the management of Community Managed School (CMS) in Nepal in terms of the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents in order to develop guidelines for the improvement of CMS in Nepal. The mixed method (qualitative and quantitative) was used in this study. The study site, Lalitpur district, was selected based on the human empowerment index of the country. The survey group was 100 school management committee members, 50 parent teacher association members and 50 teachers. Qualitative data were collected using in-depth interviews. Quantitative data were collected through survey questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out by using descriptive statistics as well as t-test and ANOVA. The findings of the study indicated that the level of opinion of the stakeholders was at high level in the aspects of CMS management i.e. teacher management, curriculum management, equity and access, monitoring, financial management and physical resource management. The research found that individual socio-demographic characteristics such as age, qualification, gender, ethnicity, residence and religion were significantly related to the level of opinion of stakeholders. The research revealed that the stakeholders were agreed on full autonomy for the concerned community. It is recommended that there should be absolute autonomy for the community, role clarity among the stakeholders, government assurances of continuous support, sound mechanisms of monitoring and professional support and a clear legal framework for the smooth operation of CMS. It is also recommended that various areas be studied for the improvement of CMS management in the country.
