บทคัดย่อ (EN): Feeding high-level concentrate which is unlimited grain feeding does not always increase production and may be cause the problem for the cow. Feeding too high a level of concentrate may force animal oppose to metabolism involve in efficiently of milk production. So, this study aimed to investigate the effect of mineral salt block on rumen pH, fermentation, digestibility and ammonia-nitrogen (NH3-N) according to in vitro gas production technique. The experiment design was a 2x5 factorial arrangement in a completely randomized design (CRD). There were 2 experimental factors comprised of 1) two ratios of concentrate to roughage ratio (C:R) at 60:40 and 70:30 and 2) five mineral blocks were supplemented (control, A, B, C and D) at 0.5g/kgDM. There were 10 combination treatments. The result showed that the gas production from the immediately soluble fraction (a) was non-significantly by interaction between TMR and mineral salt block (P>0.05). The gas production from the insoluble fraction (b) was significantly in mineral salt block and highest in control group (P0.05). NH3-N concentration was not significant among dietary treatments. Therefore, this experiment concludes that supplementation of mineral block could enhance rumen fermentation by maintaining pH in the rumen and this might improve rumen function and digestibility.
