บทคัดย่อ (EN): The escalating essential value of natural rubber to provide socioeconomic stability and food security in Southeast Asia is impinging even in developing countries particularly the Philippines. There is also a spiralling recognition of the environmental benefits of planting Rubber (Hevea brasiliensis Muell Argo). Such are the bases toward the widening adoption of rubber-based Agroforestry systems at the farmers’ level. To ascertain the successful venture into smallhold rubber-based agroforestry systems, the documentation of potentially sustainable farming technologies, including impediments of production systems in selected major rubber producing areas was conducted. The lessons learnt from the experiences of the farmers should serve as guide in prolonging the productive years of the rubber production farms based on site-specific conditions. The drivers of success was likewise identified which are mostly focused on the nitty-gritty of the rubber-based agroforestry farming activities and other external support systems. Moreover, improvement on the physical, environmental and socio economic benefits were likewise observed as a feedbacking mechanism of the desired deliverables of the system. This paper presents the evolution of rubber-based agroforestry system into a climax monoculture rubber plantation scheme.
