บทคัดย่อ (EN): The objective of this study was to determine the crude protein requirement for maintenance of three Bos indicus breeds cattle under the same condition. Four male cattle of 3 breeds, Brahman, Thai native and Brahman crossbred initially weighing 225, 154 and 232 kg, respectively, were assigned to a triplicate 4 × 4 Latin squared design with 4 feeding level treatments (0.6M. 1.2M, 1.5M and 1.8M) of the offered feed amount. When the feeding level increased, the crude protein (CP) retention and fecal CP excretion tended to rise up. Significant linear relationships between the CP intake and CP retention were obtained in each breed. These equations indicated that CP requirements for maintenance were 3.42, 3.84 and 3.59 g/kgBW0.75/d for Brahman, Thai native and Brahman crossbred cattle, respectively, and these values were not so different among the three breeds.
