บทคัดย่อ (EN): Tapping panel dryness (TPD) is a phenomenon whereby some trees in a field of identical clones start to show reduced yield and in some cases drop to zero. In this period , TPD is the most important syndrome affects to decreasing latex yield in upper northeast of Thailand. So, the research was carried out to observe the TPD phenomenon which occured in opened- tapping plantation of smallholder in 5 provinces, and to analyze the factors which influence to TPD event. The research was operated in 5 provinces of upper northeast area as Nongkhai, Nakhon Phanom, Loei, Sakhon Nakhon and Udonthani which started in October 2006. Six hundred and fifty-two rubber smallholdings were observed and investigated the TPD syndrom. According to the observation, the highest rate of TPD were observed in Udonthani province whereas the lowest rate of TPD were found in Nakhon Phanom province. There were several factors affected to increase TPD phenomenon such as soil properties, frequent tapping system, nutrient efficiency and fertilizer application, the lack of knowledge about rubber plantation management and the rubber prices.
