บทคัดย่อ (EN): This study was a collection of data from eleven farmers who were raising Pradu Hangdum Chiang Mai chickens with 6 farmers raising the chicken in integrated manner using crop residues as main portion of the feed for animals (commercial feed with 17% protein mixed with farm residues at 1:3 ratio). Another 5 farmers raised chickens using commercial feeds only (commercial feed with 17% protein). Farmers in both groups raised chicken in open range. Data were collected through questionnaire. Analysis of results was done by comparison of percentages and averages. Results of the study showed that farmers raising an average of 480 birds/farmer at an average period of 110 days, indicated that live weight, rate of growth and amount of commercial feed consumed of chickens only raised by farmers, were higher than chickens raised by farmers in an integrated manner. But the investment on the cost of feed by farmers raising chicken alone was higher at 10.07% (67.58% and 57.31%, respectively) which in effect, allowed integrated chicken production having a higher return to cost than raising chicken alone at 14.63% (19.87 and 5.24%, respectively). Aside from the higher investment in raising chicken, integrated chicken production enabled farmers to obtain increased income because of the reduction in the use of fertilizer and farm chemicals at 38.20% per year while indirect impact consisted of farmers having better health thus ensuring food stability to farmers and the community.
