บทคัดย่อ (EN): Objective of this experiment was studying thrips and mites resistance character of 22 chili varieties, which had 2 groups of chili, the first were 11 chili small fruit varieties grown in rainy season 2000 BC, the second were 11 chili large fruit varieties grown in winter 200 BC. The randomized complete block design of 11 chili varieties with 4 replication was used in each season. This experiment was conducted at Lampang Agricultural Research and Training Center. The result showed that the thrip resistance level of S2 S9 S8 S5 S4 S6 S S3 S S7 and S 0 small fruit varieties were 3.3 3.3 3. 3.1 3.0 2.9 2.9 2.7 2.7 2.3 and 1 .7 respectively. The thrip resistance level of L7 L9 L L2 L8 L4 L5 L L3 L 0 and L6 large fruit varieties were 2.8 2.8 2.7 2.6 2.5 2.4 2.2 2.2 2. 1 .7 and 1 .3 respectively. The character of thrip resistance had 4 characters, the first, the tolerance found on S2 S8 S6 S3 S L2 and L4 varieties. The second, the high number of trichom on leaf found on S6 S7 S8 L4 L7 L8 L9 and L varieties. The thrid, the high stickiness of leaf found on S S4 S6 S7 S9 L and L2 varieties. The last, the high thickness of leaf found on S4 S5 L L3 L5 L8 and L varieties. The S 0 L6 and L 0 were susceptible varieties of thrip damaging which had lower resistance level more than the other varieties. The mite resistance level of small pod chilli varieties of S8 S9 S3 S S5 S2 S7 S6 S 0 S4 and S varieties were 2.4 2.4 2.4 2.4 2.3 2.2 2.0 2.0 2.0 1 .7 and 1 .6 respectively which had not significant difference. The mite resistance level of large pod chili varieties of L2 L L7 L5 L L4 L3 L8 L 0 L9 and L6 varieties were 2.5 2.4 2.4 2.3 2.2 2.2 2.0 2.0 1 .9 1 .8 and 1 .7 respectively, not significant difference but estimate of the character of mite resistance had 3 characters, the first, the tolerance found on S2 S3 S5 S6 S7 S9 S 0 S and S3 varieties. The second, the high number of trichom on leaf found on S8 L8 L L7 and L4 varieties. The thrid, the less number of trichome on found on S3 S L2 L and L5 varieties.
