บทคัดย่อ (EN): This study was carried out to find out the suitable mixture of non-selenium catalyst in determination of nitrogen content in TSR using Kjeldahl method. An experiment with six treatments was laid out to compare with the standard method in which selenium was used (ISO 1656). Ten replications in determination of the two TSR samples were done. A recovery test to check the quality of these catalysts and the nitrogen analysis was also complemented with all three steps: digestion then distillation and titration of a standard substance with known nitrogen content. Costs of catalyst consumption were estimated as well. Perfectly, no significant differences were found among catalysts. Both treatments T1-Selenium/salts mixture and T5 – Titanium dioxide/ salts mixture – gave higher result in nitrogen recovery test (~99,8%) but T5 consumed the lowest cost (about 30 USD for catalyst used pet one thousand samples) and was easier for technician to operate. Results of the proficiency testing programs on determination of nitrogen content in natural rubber have indicated that there were no difference between using new mixture of catalyst and the selenium one.
