บทคัดย่อ (EN): Introduction: In 2015, Thailand and neighbor countries joined the ASEAN Economic Community known as AEC 2015. This increased the cross-border movement and immigration dramatically. Malaria and filariasis are the two most important mosquito borne parasitic diseases in global health. Culex quinquefasciatus, the abundant nuisance mosquito in Thailand, is listed has to be monitored at areas along Thai borders because of its potential transmission of Filariasis in the neighbor countries. Larvicide is one material used for mosquito control. However, the long use of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis (Bti), Bacillus sphaericus (Bsph) and temephos can cause mosquito resistance. This study was initiated to determine the resistant ratio of field population of Cx. quinquefasciatus at provinces along Thai-Myanmar border to Bti, Bsph and temephos. In addition, susceptible mosquito strain was induced by these three control agents for a year for comparison. The technique of satellite and GIS was integrated to this study used as informatic data for the mosquito control. Objectives: 1. To determine resistant ratio of Cx. quinquefasciatus at Thai-Myanmar border to Bti,Bsph and temephos and to study the resistant induction for comparison 2. To combine technology of GIS with the resistant data of Cx. quinquefasciatus to Bti,Bsph and temephos Methodology: Dry products of bacterial Bti 02 and Bsph 07 were produced for testing. Ten provinces along Thai-Myanmar border were surveyed for collection of Cx. quinquefasciatus larvae. Samples were mass rearing in laboratory for appropriate number, stage and size. The bioanalytical efficiency test was used to obtain Median Lethal Concentration(LC50) and Resistance Ratio (RR). The induction was conducted by exposing susceptible mosquito strain to Bti, Bsph and temephos for a year. The Geographical Information System was combined for showing resistance at study areas. Result: 60.46 g of Bti 07 and 52.86 g of Bsph were produced and found to be effective for the tests. RR of Cx. quinquefasciatus in 10 provinces comprised of Chiangmai, Chiangrai, Tak, Maehongson, Petchaburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, ranong, Chumporn and Prachub Kirichan to Bti were 0.64, 1.08, 0.94 0.90, 1.21, 0.41, 0.80, 0.36, 0.45 and 0.56 while to Bsph were 1.01, 1.77, 0.87, 1.65, 0.91, 2.66, 1.38, 1.57, 1.04 and 1.05 and then to temephos were 1.94, 0.47, 1.48, 1.23, 1.71, 1.48, 2.07, 2.65, 3.01 and 2.46 respectively. The inductions within a year showed mosquitoes at the 9th generation developed resistance to Bti, Bsph and temephos at 1.18, 12.19 and 4.50 times. The RR of 10 provinces was presented as three GIS maps showed the areas and levels of resistance. Conclusion: RR of mosquitoes to Bti was classified as low resistance. RR to Bsph was noted to be higher than Bti while to temephos was found to be the highest. We concluded that Bti could be used at areas along Thai-Myanmar borders while Bsph could be used but have to increase the amount in some areas while temephos could be used but should be combined with other appropriate methods. The induction of standard mosquito showed mosquitoes at the 9th generation developed resistance slowly to Bti. While the RR to Bsph developed fast which means that the often use of Bsph could reach to high resistance within a year. And resistance to temephos had a trend to be high in further. Three RR GIS maps were classified into 3 levels using international standard colors as green (0.0 – 2.49 times), yellow (2.50 – 4.99 times) and red (³ 5.00 times) which represent to low, medium and high levels respectively.
