บทคัดย่อ (EN): In the raising of native chicken from an open range system produces unstable yield to commercial system. Farmers should concern for a good farm management in order to fully utilize production inputs in portions. This portions are appropriate to an expected yield with respect to capital investment that would lead to efficiency in production. This study aimed to analyze economic efficiency in the production of Pradu Hangdum Chiang mai native chicken in a traditional manner where mother hens hatch and brood chicks by themselves. In a DEA analysis under a VRS assumption through production inputs, it was found that farms in Group 1 had an economic efficiency of 2.2% at values of EE=0.888, TE=0.980, CE=0.873. Group 2 had an economic efficiency of 3.7% at values of EE=0.998, TE=0.989, CE=0.998; and, Group 3 had economic efficiency of 3.7% at values of EE=0.767, TE=0.948, CE=0.734. Each group was mostly a big farm size. Chicken production using IRS model showed that increased production inputs also proportionately increased production yield at the same time together with increased efficiency. However, in this technique, farm size should be appropriate with adjusted investment efficiency in order to attain better economic efficiency.
