บทคัดย่อ (EN): Rubber is an economically important product which contributes significantly to the Thai economy. In order to maintain a high level of rubber production and export, breeding for good growth and high yield of new rubber tree varieties is important. The application of molecular techniques that are more efficient than conventional methods is one way to reduce the duration of the breeding program. In this study, the relationships between selected molecular markers and the growth and yield of the rubber tree were evaluated by association mapping. Ninety seven Hevea clones were genotyped using 128 microsatellites (SSR) markers which detected 836 alleles, with an average 6 .5 3 alleles per marker. The corresponding PIC values ranged from 0.2 to 0.86, with an average 0. 57. The genetic diversity of each SSR markers ranged from 0. 23 to 0. 87, with an average 0. 62. Phenotypic data for 23 traits related to growth increment and rubber production were calculated as the average values for each year based on three replicates with seven trees per clones per replicate. A total of 54 SSR markers were identified for the 23 traits, with 26 SSR markers associated with yield and 33 associated with growth. Five SSR markers, viz. EHB012, hbe4, M692, mA2388 and mt460, were associated with both yield and growth. The results of this study showed that molecular markers could be used in the selection for good growth and high yield in the rubber breeding program.
