บทคัดย่อ: วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาโครงสร้างทางไวยากรณ์ รูปแบบ ระดับ และ ประเภทของวัจนกรรมการขอร้องในสังคมไทย โดยศึกษาจากบทสนทนาในชีวิตประจำวันของไทย การวิเคราะห์โครงสร้างทางไวยากรณ์และรูปแบบการเกิดของวัจนกรรมการขอร้องนี้ พบว่า โครงสร้างทางไวยากรณ์ของวัจนกรรมการขอร้องมี 2 โครงสร้างหลักคือ +VP +FP และ +VP +FP +ได้ไหม ส่วนรูปแบบของวัจนกรรมการขอร้องในภาษาไทย เป็นการศึกษาส่วนประกอบของวัจน กรรมการขอร้อง คือ ส่วนหลัก (Head act) ส่วนขยาย (Supportive move) และคำเรียกผู้ฟัง (Alerter) ซึ่งส่วนประกอบทั้ง 3 ส่วนนี้ใช้ความหมายของถ้อยความในการแบ่งรูปแบบของวัจนกรรมการขอร้อง ดังกล่าว เป็นการศึกษาการเกิดร่วมกันระหว่างส่วนหลัก และส่วนขยาย ซึ่งพบทั้งหมด 7 รูปแบบ การศึกษาระดับและประเภทของวัจนกรรมการขอร้องนั้น พบว่ามีวัจนกรรมการขอร้อง ทั้งสิ้น 3 ระดับคือ Most direct level, Conventionally indirect level และ Non-conventionally indirect level ซึ่งวัจนกรรมทั้ง 3 ระดับนี้ สามารถแบ่งย่อยได้เป็น 5 ประเภท คือ Mood derivable, Want statement, Preparatory, Strong hint และ Mild hint จากการศึกษาครั้งนี้ พบว่ามีคำกริยาที่เป็นตัวชี้เฉพาะว่าเป็นวัจนกรรมการขอร้องคือ ขอ ชวน และช่วย นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่ามีคำลงท้ายที่เป็นส่วนสำคัญในการเน้นย้ำการขอร้องในภาษาไทย ด้วย คือ นะ สิ และหน่อย ซึ่งนอกจาก หน่อย จะเป็นคำลงท้ายที่แสดงการเน้นย้ำการขอร้องแล้ว หน่อย ยังทำให้การขอร้องนั้นมีความสุภาพขึ้นอีกด้วย
บทคัดย่อ (EN): and to propose possible positive actions to ensure the maintenance of the ethnic language. Drawing from interviews, participant observation and analyses of actual recorded conversations, the researcher concludes that the Black Tai at Nongkhe Village have been maintaining their ethnic Black Tai language and culture very strongly. A number of features are factors contributing to ethnic language maintenance. First of all, not only is Black Tai used extensively in the community, but the ethnic language is passed on to younger generations as well. The Black Tai villagers preserve traditional features of the ethnic language, while rarely engaging in code-switching. The ethnic language also serves a significant ceremonial function with respect to clan spirit worship. Furthermore, community members express positive attitudes and loyalty toward the ethnic language and culture. Despite strong maintenance, the seeds of language shift were observed as well. Factors likely to promote shift include practices of intermarriage, formal schooling in schools far way from the community and the widespread presence of electronic media in the village. To secure ethnic language maintenance, the researcher recommends that mother tongue literacy be developed and formal education in the mother tongue be advanced.
