ชื่อเรื่อง (EN): Development of Crossbred Native Chickens Production by Local Herbs for Community Enterprises Career in Buriram
บทคัดย่อ: The objective of this study was to: 1) study the local wisdom of farmers in Buriram in context of raising native chicken by herbs. 2) study the using of deworming by herbs on productive performance of native chickens. 3) study of body knowledge of farmers from using herbs for internal nematodes in native chickens. 4) study the acceptance of farmers in Buriram in context of raising crossbred native chicken by herbs. 5) Study of knowledge, understanding, and behavior of crossbred native chicken consumers in Buriram. 6) study the possibility in raising crossbred native chicken by herbs for community enterprises career in Buriram. And 7) study the native chicken marken in Buriram and the province nearby Buriram. The target group for study local wisdom, body knowledge, acceptance, and possibility in raising crossbred native chicken was farmers in Moo 1 and 9 Ban Talunglek, Tambon Talunglek, Amphur Muang, Buriram Province. These farmers had passed the training workshop on raising crossbred native chicken and tested the herbs for raising crossbred native chickens. The results of the study have shown that: 1. Local wisdoms of farmers in raising crossbred native chicken were free range raising and used of local feedstuffs plus concentrate and used of some local herbs such as turmeric, kariyat or moringa leaf as protein supplement. By the white kwoa kreu would be uses as growth promoters and decreased aggressive in male chicken and increasing their appetite. Moreover, they used ไพล ใบมะกรูด ใบน้อยหน่า as floor foundation materials for getting rid of external parasites. Banana, chopped banana tree plus broken rice were used as chicken feed including ripe areca-nut was used with fighting cock as for deworming internal nematode. 2. The comparative study of dietary supplementation of moringa leaf at different level plus turmeric on productive performance of crossbred native chickens. It was found that the chickens that received dietary supplemented with 0.6 % moringa leaf meal plus 0.1 % turmeric showed the best productive performance by there was no significantly different from other groups. When observed their health, it was shown that their health was better than the others by similar to control group. And the results of comparative study of dietary supplementation of white kwao krue, turmeric and kariyat on productive performance of crossbred native chickens, it has shown that there was no effect on productive performance but the supplementation of 0.1 turmeric affected on carcass percentage. The study of dietary supplementation of tamarind seed coat and dried ripe areca-nut has positive result on deworming the internal parasites by it could decrease the number of nematode eggs as well as commercial anthelmintic. 3. The body knowledge of farmers in using herbs for raising native chickens, it was shown that the farmers knew some native chicken breeds only. They knew feedstuffs and knew how to formulate chicken feed by using local feedstuffs. They had tacit knowledge from local wisdom in using herbs for raising native chickens. They knew the differences between chicken houses, good sanitation, vaccine program, collecting productive performance data, and calculation of productive cost and return profit. 4. Target group showed acceptance in raising crossbred native chicken by herbs. Since they had knowledge, understanding about using those herbs and they had tried using it by themselves until they had confident to use those herbs. 5. Selling of native chicken found in municipal markets, local, and flea market more than hyper market or supermarkets. Consumers prefer real native chickens to crossbred native chickens. The market needs live native chickens weight 1.5-1.8 kilograms per chick. Purchasing live native chickens for slaughter would be done by middlemen. There were selling native chickens quite a number at the border of Thailand-Cambodia, Amphor Kabcherng, Surin Province. In addition, the middlemen in Buriram and the province nearby used Facebook for communication with the farmers or producers. The price of native chickens would accord to season and some festivals. 6. Farmers had knowledge, understanding and good attitude on raising native chicken by herbs. Eleven farmers was grouped by they had agreement in fattening native chicken for selling as live chicken. They set a division of duties for each one in their group. The conditions which could lead their group to success were good sanitation, good source of feedstuffs for decreasing the productive cost. They had a plan for native chicken production for whole year as for feed the chicken to market continuously. The market for their chicken was mainly in local market. The others would be middlemen occasionally bought from farmers. The income from selling native chicken was supplemented income and they had a plan for further produce chicks for fattening because they had sufficient parent stocks. This can be possible to produce the crossbred native chickens by local herbs for community enterprises career in Buriram.
