บทคัดย่อ (EN): Natural Rubber, being a visco-elastic material, shows both viscous and elastic properties. Rubber properties may be degraded during storage due to environmental factors as it is an unsaturated polymer containing with non-rubbers substances. Sri Lanka is the world’s leading manufacturer of Natural Rubber (NR) latex pale crepe and sole crepe for the export market, since the visco-elastic properties directly affect the process ability, of high temperatures and the effect of the non-rubber content on visco-elastic properties of different types of crepe rubber were investigated. Fractionated Bleached (FB), Un-Fractionated Un-Bleached (UFUB), and Yellow Fraction (YF) grades of crepe rubber were studies at different storage temperatures; 400C, 600C, 800C and 1000C. The effect of storage temperature and storage time on changes in visco-elastic behavior was characterized with Mooney Viscosity and Mooney Stress Relaxation. YF was exhibited the rapid changes in Mooney viscosity during storage and significant increase of Mooney values of FB was shown at 1000C than the other storage temperatures with the time. Mooney elasticity as measured by Mooney stress relaxation of all three types of crepe rubber was decreased at 100◦C with the time indicating the degradation of rubber molecules. The changes in visco-elastic properties of the crepe rubber grades have been explained with non-rubber present in the crepe rubber.
