บทคัดย่อ: Comparative phytochemical analyses of Aglaia elaeagnoidea in Trat Agroforestry Research and Training Station, Trat province, were done in order to isolated antifungal compounds against fungi cause deseases in agricultural commodities i.e. Colletotrichum gloeosporioides และ C. capsici isolated from mango “Nam Dog Mai” and chili respectively. By using chromatographic techniques within different plant parts, i.e. leaves, stem bark and root bark, the pure compound 4-bis-norcycloartane-type triterpens i.e.14?-methyl-sterol could be isolated from lipophilic leaves extract. Based on microdilution method which reported by minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value compared with the commercial antifungal compound “prochloraz” and detected at 24 and 72 hours. It was shown that at 24 hours, the leaves extract could inhibit spore germination of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides with the MIC value 0.85 ?g/ml which is better than the result from prochloraz (MIC value = 25 ?g/ml). Pure compound 14?-methyl-sterol, stem bark and root bark extracts could not inhibit spore germination of C. gloeosporioides. Leaves and stem bark extracts showed antifungal activity against C. capsici with MIC 870 ?g/ml at 24 and 72 hours. The root extract showed antifungal activity against C. capsici with MIC 1,740 ?g/ml at 24 hours while the pure compound 14?-methyl sterol showed antifungal activity against C. capsici with MIC value 174 ?g/ml when compared with prochloraz which showed MIC value 6.3 ?g/ml at 24 hours. The leaves extract of Aglaia elaeagnoidea has potential to be used as alternative antifungal substance against C. gloeosporioides because its effect is better than the commercial chemical prochloraz, contrast with the pure compound 14?-methyl sterol. Hence, this pure compound is not the active compound in lipophilic leaves extract from A. elaeagnoidea. The further investigation should be done with A. elaeagnoidea in order to be fruitful for commercial scale.
