บทคัดย่อ (EN): Most of consumers ate indigenous chickens were 4.63 head/household/month. The chicken menus were chicken Tom Yum, Kua Kai, chicken curry, and spicy fried chicken. This was the local menu that used chickens, because taste and quality of chicken meat that chewy could improve tasty food. The consumption behavior of consumer in Rongkwang district, Phrae province; they bought fresh chickens meat because it’s had convenient for cooking. The average price of indigenous chicken meat was higher than broiler meat (107.88 and 77.50 Baht/kg, respectively) but consumers willing to pay it. They were believed that indigenous chicken meat were taste and safety more than broiler meat. It’s showed that it’s had best trait that consumers were chose for consume. They were brought it from farmer’s house (39.74%) and the market in Rongkwang district. Indigenous chicken meat suitable for local food menu as a resulted it was high requirement of consumers. This study showed that key factors were convenient variable for buying, amount of day for opportunity to consume, and could buy in their village. Thus, this was the opportunities for indigenous chicken farm in free-range system for market share and expanded the market.
