บทคัดย่อ (EN): The objective of this study was to determine the protein requirement for the maintenance of Thai-indigenous cattle. Six male Thai-indigenous beef cattle was used and randomly assigned in replicated 3×3 Latin square design. Cattle were fed with dietary crude protein (CP) levels of 4.0, 7.0 and 10.0% CP with similar amounts of metabolizable energy. The CP maintenance requirement in Thai-indigenous growing beef cattle was 3.54g/kgBW0.75, which was estimated by using linear regression of Nitrogen retention and Nitrogen intake. Dry matter intake increased linearly with increasing crude protein concentration (P=0.001). There was no significantly different digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, acid detergent fiber and neutral detergent fiber (P>0.05). N intake, urea N excretion, N digestibility, N retention (g/d) and N retention (% of N intake) increased linearly (P0.05)..
