บทคัดย่อ (EN): Thailand is a developing country with a continuously increasing demand for energy. However, Thailand has limited energy resources, and therefore, half of the energy consumed is imported. Buildings in Thailand are responsible for 53% of electricity consumption and 30% of energy consumption. Over half of this consumption is due to the large commercial buildings, making energy conservation programs for commercial buildings critical for reducing the harmful environmental impacts of energy use. This study focuses on development of energy conservation programs for commercial buildings in Thailand based on assessed energy saving potentials. Data from various sources of energy used were extracted, then were put into a database for eight types of buildings, including offices, schools, department stores, condominiums, hospitals, hotels, hypermarkets and miscellaneous buildings. Building models developed from energy audit reports were analyzed to estimate the energy demand for future buildings. Forecasted energy demand data from the Load Forecast Subcommittee, energy conservation plans were considered using energy in the future for estimating energy saving potentials within 20 years. In order to estimate the possibility of energy savings, the conservation programs were developed in coordination with building energy codes and building energy labeling mechanisms. The codes and labels were expected to be enforced and reevaluated every three years. Estimating the energy saving from developing energy conservation programs for commercial buildings implemented in Thailand, the study found that electricity and fuel consumptions of the large commercial buildings will decrease by more than 50% and 40% in the year 2030, respectively
