บทคัดย่อ (EN): Biological experiments which dealing with living organism or plant should be well designed, efficiently executed, correctly analysed, and correctly interpreted; if they are to be ethically acceptable. In statistics, the number of degrees of freedom (df) is the number of values in the final calculation of a statistic that are free to vary. The concept of degrees of freedom is central to the principle of estimating statistics of populations from samples of them. The df was mainly used in data analysis using analysis of variance (ANOVA). In biological experiments, many researchers are adopting of experiment; hence the use of ANOVA is a lot in their data analysis. Some real example in biological experiments on Complete Randomised Design (CRD) and Randomised Complete Block Design (RCBD) will be introduced to highlight the use of df for better understanding.
