บทคัดย่อ (EN): A versatile method for synthesizing functionalized elastomeric material based on sunflower oil was investigated. The new material is expected to have a self-healing ability that in the future it can be used as an additive in rubber processing to overcome the cracking problems, but it still need future research. In the current study, the preparation of the elastomeric material was conducted in a three-step reaction. The first stage , sunflower oil was reacted with acrylic in iodine catalyst to obtain dimer acid. Secondly, diethylenetriamine was condensed with dimer acid, and finally, the resulting oligoamide was reacted with urea at 1600C for 27 hours in the nitrogen atmosphere to produce elastomeric material. The structure of the product was determined from infrared (FTIR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Thermo-analytic was evaluated using thermogravimetry (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). In addition, Melt flow index also applied to characterize the elastomer. The FTIR, NMR and DSC results showed that, the introduction of urea in oligoamide has led to the formation of elastomeric material via hydrogen bond. Thermal decomposition of the elastomer occurred in three stages, to the carbon dioxide molecule in triglyceride, elastomeric molecule and unknown complex carbon substance. The elastomeric material has a melting point at 121. 170C, crystallization temperature at 1850C and melt flow index of 82.89 g/10 min.
