บทคัดย่อ (EN): Typhoon (hurricane) slashes Hainan and Guangdong provinces in China at least once a year, and each typhoon caused rather serious damages to rubber plantations in these two provinces. Years of efforts have been made to cultivate rubber trees successfully in these wind-prone areas. Effective measures for cultural operation to reduce damage from attack of typhoon include selection of typhoon-sheltered environment, selection of windfirm clones, environmax approach, windbreak system construction, windfirm planting patterns, pruning, fertilized control, etc. However, these cultural measures, a summary of 60 years of researches and experiences in rubber cultivation in China, still only alleviate a partial stress of typhoon attack.
