บทคัดย่อ (EN): The Farmer in the Si Sa Ket province area produced black silk fabric that used ebony fruit for dyeing. The limited of ebony tree that the tree provided fruit only one time per year. As a result, ebony fruits were preserved by soak into water for extending pigment quality. Ebony preservation methodology does not clear about the appropriate time and method for silk yarn dyeing efficacy. This research was carried out in 2018 – 2019. The research aimed to studied method and time to preserved ebony fruit for silk dyeing in The Queen Sirikit Sericulture Center, Si Sa Ket. The research was conducted with five treatments as kept in, cool temperature -20 degrees centigrade, soak into water, salt solution 10%, lime solution 5%, and sterilized ebony fruit concentrate 50%. After that, there were dyed to silk yarn every 2, 4, 6 and 8 months, then measured color color fastness of light, and color fastness of washing. The result showed ebony fruits were preserved by freeze method that the best method for providing high chroma, high color fastness of light and washing but low of discoloration. The other methods were the minor result as soak in the salt solution, lime solution, water, and the sterilized ebony concentrate, respectively. The value of chroma, light fastness, and washing fastness were decline when preserved for a long period at 8 months. Consequently, to add mordant, to repeat dyeing, an increase proportion of ebony fruit in the dyeing process can improve the ebony fruit on silk dyeing ability.
