บทคัดย่อ (EN): Oidium leaf fall caused by Oideum heveae is one of most common diseases on rubber in Vietnam. In the past, the chemical control of this disease on mature plantation was impractical due to lack of equipment. In recent years, high pressure sprayer equipped to deal with Corynespora outbreak has been used to spray chemical to control Oidium, The Oidium chemical control protocol has been launched. Three (3) possible formulae: hexaconazole (0.01% a.i); hexaconazole (0.005% a.i.) combined with carbendazim (0.05% a.i.); or diniconazle (0.00625% - 0.0125% a.i); mixing with surfactant BDNH 2000 (0.2%) are recommended. The combination of foliar fertilizer in 2nd and 3rd spraying are also suggested. The spraying are started as soon as 10% - 15% number of trees begin refoliation when tender leaves are not yet or only light infected and are conducted from 2 to 3 times at 7 – 10 days intervals, in early morning and late afternoon using suitable high pressure sprayer with 400 liter – 800 liter of mixture/ha/time. The protocol has been progressively applied on mature rubber estates of the companies belonged to Vietnam Rubber Group. The total area started from 7,890 ha in 2012, after that increased to 46,188 ha in 2013 and 65,107 ha in 2014, In 2015, the applied area reduced to 41,213 ha due to limited budget. When the protocol is properly applied, the leaves on the field matured faster and were in dark green, glossy, thick and large; there was no or very light infection on leaves; the redefoliation has been reduced; reopening for tapping was earlier and the yield was higher than that of no application. The money obtained from the extra yield was higher than the cost of spraying. Promising results encourages the companies to continue applying the protocol in future.
