บทคัดย่อ (EN): In an attempt to adhere towards environmental friendly plantation, the establishment of rubber forest plantation in Bukit Kuantan, Pahang took the initiative in conserving a natural forest fragment within their rubber forest plantation landscape. By using birds as bio-indicator, this work seek the positive outcome in preserving the forest fragment within the rubber plantation landscape reflected by the bird diversity and its preferred habitat assemblages. A comparison between numbers of bird species recorded in Bukit Kuantan rubber forest plantation and other publications were also highlighted. A point count observation method was carried out in 28 sampling points surveyed in one year period. A total of 67 bird species from 36 bird families was recorded with Shannon Diversity, the H value is 3.060. It is estimated that 10% of the bird diversity recorded in Peninsular Malaysia can be found in Bukit Kuantan rubber forest plantation while 66% of the birds recorded preferred forested habitat. Through the finding, it can be postulated that the presence of forest fragment helps to increase the number of birds present in rubber forest plantation and enhance the resiliency of forested bird to persist in rubber forest plantation landscape.
