บทคัดย่อ (EN): Through the application of thermo-chemical system of waste-based biomass plantation and rubber factories can be obtained potential energy source equivalent respectively 4.4 million and 88.7 thousand liters of fuel per year. In this study, it was assessed the efforts to use waste coming from rubber plants and crumb rubber factories as renewable energy sources through the development of gasification techniques. The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden and Laboratory of Rubber Processing and Waste Technology of Sembawa Rubber Research Centre. Gasification process of rubber stump waste and rubber factory waste producing synthetic gas (63.7 to 81.7%), charcoal (15 to 28.8%) and tar (3.8 to 7.7%). The composition of gaseous products were methane (1.73 to 2.3% v/v), CO (1.27 to 8.03% v/v), hydrogen (10.48 to 10.61%v/v). Performance of biomass gasifier using stumps and chips demonstrated the efficiency of the gasification rate of 57.84% and 57.16%. Gasifier application in the rubber drying showed that the high quality rubber where more than 98% of brightly colored was produced, 52 hours required for drying and the consumption of biomass (moisture content 15%) was 2.61 kg/hour.
