บทคัดย่อ (EN): The relationship between latex yield and some physiological parameters such as sucrose, thiols, inorganic phosphorus, total solid content, and magnesium which are involved in the flow and the regeneration of latex have been relatively well documented. However, the behavior of these latex diagnostic parameters under the influence of ethephon, position of tapping cut, and seasonal variation was also insufficiently published. A study was undertaken in two Hevea clones including PB 260 and RRIV 3 over eight consecutive tapping years on panel BO-1 and BO-2 to evaluate variations of latex physiological parameters in season, clonal origin, and tapping-cut position. In this study, trees of those two clones were tapped under d4 frequency and separated into two groups per each clone: a control without ethephon stimulant and a group which was treated 6 stimulation rounds per year. In general, rubber trees have different responses to stimulation and position of tapping cut via individual tree yield and the absolute values addressed latex physiological features of rubber clones. The results showed that tree yield (gram.tree-1.tapping-1) was gradually increasing in the following tapping years until the cut changed to the BO-2 panel, and dropped dramatically in the eighth tapping year afterwards. Nevertheless, stimulation only resulted in significantly higher tree yield during the first five tapping years than the control tapping system without using ethephon. Sucrose, inorganic phosphorus and thiols contents were significantly diminishing while total solid content (TSC) have remained stable over time. In particular, no stimulation offered the higher magnesium content in latex than the treatment with six-round stimulations. Moreover, these parameters were found to be greatly affected by seasonal variations. The higher values were observed in the physiological parameters of latex from September to December, except TSC. Clonal characteristics led to differences in the monthly pattern of these parameters. Finally, the findings possibly deepen understanding of latex physiological features and yield performance after long-time harvesting.
