บทคัดย่อ (EN): White root disease (WRD) caused by the fungus Rigidoporus microporus is as important disease in rubber plantation of Indonesia. Biological control method of the disease is continuously important to be studied and/or developed in order to obtain more efficient and effective control method. Preliminary study on the use of turmeric extract has shown good prospects. One prospective achievement was that turmeric antagonist plant extract (Curcuma domestica) was effective to control WRD in under laboratory studies. Therefore, this study was carried out to further evaluate the efficacy, bioactivity, persistence, and phytotoxicity of that plant materials which were extracted using various solvents and prepared in various formulas. This study was carried out in the laboratory and greenhouse of Sembawa Research Centre for five months. The research consisted of six activities: study on the effectiveness of turmeric extract against WRD, developing various formula of turmeric extract, studies on the bioactivity, persistence, and phytotoxicity of the formulas. The results of research under laboratory conditions showed that turmeric extract could effectively inhibit the growth of R. microporus by 39.45% to 62.80%. Further study in the greenhouse revealed that formula of turmeric extract 20 EC + n-hexan solvent could decrease the WRD disease intensity 20.80%. Further, it was proven that all of formulas had no toxic effect to rubber plant, and showed good persistence after their application to the growing media (soil) rubber plant in polybag.
