บทคัดย่อ: Studied on seasonal variation on population of a common rock crab Leptodius exaratus (H.Milne Edwards, 1834) which is belong to one species of marine crabs community in the Marine Plant Genetic Conservation Area, Mo Ko Samaesarn, Chon Buri Province. Crabs were collected from the intertidal zone of Rad Islands (western part), Had Tein and Had Luklom of Samaesan Island. The total area for each study sites was one hundred square metres. The specimen of crabs were collected every two months during January to September 2014. Crabs were collected by hand or using suitable equipments for half an hour by three persons. The colour pattern of carapace, carapace width-length of male and female and number of ovigerous crabs were recorded. The total of 708 crabs were collected with 418 males and 290 females. The ratio of male and female crabs were similar at all three sites of study. However, total number of male was more than females and the ratio of male and female were 1.39:1.00, 1.32:1.00 และ 1.79:1.00 at the first, second and third sites respectively. It was found that there is no relationship between colour pattern and sex of crabs. The relationships between carapace width and carapace length of crabs collected from all three sites of study were similar with the linear equation, Y= 0.6255x+0.6106 Y= 0.6223x+0.6667 and Y= 0.631x+0.4584 for Rad Islands (western part), Had Tein and Had Luklom of Samaesan Island, respectively. It was found that the average size of crabs are less in January and March than in other months and the size is the most biggest in September. It is possible that reproductive season of this crab might be around the end of the year or in November or December. However, ovigerous females can be collected every time of the survey
