บทคัดย่อ (EN): MRB Clone Recommendations 2013 is a recommendation by Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) to the national rubber growers with regard to the latest proven rubber clones performance in field trials. This recommendation has been written after thorough screening in the field, consultations with various experts in rubber and finally a dialogue with the rubber industry’s representatives. It is hoped that with this recommendation the national target of 2,000 kg/ha land productivity will be achieved by rubber growers by year 2020. Group 1 consists of clones with yield data of at least five years on BO-1 panel with minimum mean yield of 1,500 ka/ha/yr obtained from Large Scale Clone Trials conducted in different locations. Group 1 clones should have all desired secondary characteristics; thick virgin bark, tappable at five years of planting, low wind damage incidence, resistance to bark dryness and resistance to major leaf diseases. Group 2 consists of promising new clones with minimum mean yield of 1,800 kg/ha/yr based on the first three years yield data in Large Scale Clone Trial in different environment. Rubber tree productivity is measured by amount of latex produced in gram/tree/tapping (g/t/t), and the land productivity refers to amount of latex produced in kg/ha/yr. The productivity of rubber in a certain locality is more likely governed by various biological, environmental and technological factors. This includes weather and climate conditions, land preparation, soil classification, clonal characteristic, type of planting materials, number of tappable trees, tapping system employed, type of fertilizer applied, stimulant used and pest and disease attacked.
