บทคัดย่อ: Study on rearing Long whiskered catfish in the cages with high stocking densities were conducted in the 4 rai (0.64 ha) reservoir of Phetchaburi Inland Fisheries Research and Development Center. 2 experiments were planned. The 1st experiment : the suitable high stocking density of Long whiskered catfish with 32 percentage protein formulated pellet feed was designed, which having 3 treatments and 3 replications each. The 2nd experiment : the suitable high stocking density of Long whiskered catfish with farm-made feed (by-product of Short-bodied mackerel mixed with rice bran at 1:1 ratio) was designed, which having 3 treatments and 3 replications each. The mean initial weight and length of the fish in the 1st experiment were 1.43+0.03, 1.43+0.07 and 1.45+0.04 g, respectively; 4.93+0.07, 4.96+0.03 and 4.97+0.02 cm, respectively. And, the 2nd treatment were 1.46+0.09, 1.47+0.04และ 1.47+0.13 g, respectively; 4.96+0.04, 4.97+0.03 and 4.96+0.03 cm, respectively. Fish were reared in 1.0X1.0X1.2 m3 cages with aeration and flowthrough water system. Feed were given at satiation twice a day. This experiment was carried out during October 2014 to October 2015. The result of the 1st experiment came out that the treatment of 200, 400 and 800 tails/m3 gave the mean final weight = 24.36+1.31, 23.20+1.09 and 22.43+2.38 g, respectively and the mean final length = 1.75+0.35, 11.60+0.12 and 11.69+0.23 cm, respectively. And the growth performance, survival rate and feed efficiency were not different (p>0.05). Mean production = 4.80, 9.11 and 17.85 kg/cage, respectively. The stocking density of 800 tails/m3 gave the highest Return on investment. For the 2nd experiment, the result came out that the treatment of 200, 400 and 800 tails/m3 gave the mean final weight = 18.68+2.76, 17.48+2.98 and 17.25+2.34 g, respectively and the mean final weight = 10.97+0.15, 10.36+0.07 and 10.77+0.46 cm, respectively.And only the growth performance, FCR and survival rate were not different (p>0.05). 44 Mean production = 3.68, 6.94 and 13.44 kg/cage, respectively. The stocking density of 800 tails/m3 gave the highest Return on investment. When the growth performance, feed efficiency and Cost and Return were considered, It could be concluded that 800 tails/m3 was suitable high stocking density in rearing Long whiskered catfish in the cage which fed with either 32 percentage protein formulated pellet feed or farm-made feed (by-product of Short-bodied mackerel mixed with rice bran at 1:1 ratio)
