บทคัดย่อ (EN): Thailand has pre-processing plants for pre-process shrimp before transfer them to the factory. The contamination of Vibrio vulnificus and V. parahaemolyticus on shrimp leads to carry these bacteria to food manufacture. The objective of this work was to examine the contamination of V. vulnificus and V. parahaemolyticus on white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) at the pre-processing plants. The study was conducted by collecting the white shrimp samples during July-August 2012 from 5 pre-processing plants located in Chumporn, Ranong, Surat Thani and Nakorn Sri Thammarat province. The results showed that the contamination of V. vulnificus was detected only from pre-processing plant 1 between <0.3-9,300 MPN/g. Whereas V. parahaemolyticus was found in samples collected from pre-processing plants 1-5 between <0.3-620, <0.3-560, <0.3-740, <0.3-300 and <0.3-300 MPN/g, respectively. Our study revealed that pre-processing plants contaminated with V. vulnificus and V. parahaemolyticus. So that Thai government should be aware about a cross contamination of both V. vulnificus and V. parahaemolyticus to frozen shrimp product in factory.
