บทคัดย่อ (EN): To enhance rubber industry competitiveness both in volume of domestic consumption and value added to processed rubber and also to reduce rubber products imported, the National Natural Rubber Policy Committee in 2010 has approved Natural Rubber Development Strategy during 2009-2013 in which the strategy to develop processed rubber and rubber products has included the measure on establishment of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in order to cope up with the challenging of rubber industry and investment. In preparing with these strategy, Rubber Research Economics Group has conducted a feasibility study on special economic zone to support rubber industrial investment in selected province of North Eastern Thailand using SWOT analysis, TOWS matrix and cluster map. The result from its feasibility study has revealed that Udonthai Province was the most appropriate place to set up as an SEZ for rubber industry compared with other province in the region. The detailed information both at present and future prospect of the province would be explored. In addition, its possible implications to be set up and more in depth study including criteria needs would be briefly investigated.
