บทคัดย่อ: The objective of this study was to investigate effect of FMD vaccination on semen quality of Boer goats in Southern Thailand. Boer bucks (n=9) were randomly divided into 3 groups, Group 1 (Control, n=3), Group 2 (NSS, n=3) and Group 3 (FMD, n=3). All bucks of the three groups were semen collected with artificial vaginal method weekly for 28 consecutive weeks. On 13rd week, bucks in Group 2 were injected S/C with 2 ml. Normal Saline Solution (NSS) while Group 3 were vaccinated S/C with 2 ml. FMD vaccine (type O, A, Asia1 combination). Hence 28 weeks semen collecting samples were pre-treatment (12 weeks semen samples) and post-treatment (16 weeks semen samples). All semen samples were analyzed by CASA system Semen Analyzer for semen quality (volume, concentration, total sperm count, density, mass movement, motility). The results of all fresh semen samples, pre- and post-treatment, of the 3 groups, revealed no statistical significant differences of the semen quality. The after thawed semen quality of all post-treatment samples showed no statistical significant differences. However, the average path velocity (VAP) of Group 1 was higher than Group 2 and Group 3 (89.48?2.65, 83.14?1.55 และ 82.80?1.78, respectively). This study presents that FMD vaccination has no effect on fresh semen quality of Boer goats in Southern Thailand, however, it effects after thawed VAP.
