บทคัดย่อ (EN): s error structure. The percentage of married women who acquired HIV/AIDS knowledge from radio, TV, Newspaper/magazine, home visit by health personal, visit to health facility and discussion with partners were 34%, 63%, 73%, 27%, 31% and 55% respectively in 1996 and 43%, 63%,79%, 41% 39% and 50% respectively in 2001.The results also showed that women being exposed to at least one form of BCC were on an average one and a half (Odds Ratio [O.R.]= 1.52, 95% Confidence Interval [CI], 1.27-1.81) times more likely to have knowledge of HIV/AIDS than those who were never exposed. It also revealed that the knowledge levels of married women increased from 21% to 31% over a half decade. This study has proven that a BCC program has a strong impact on the knowledge of married women and that it is still the best way to convey the prevention message. Thus, it recommends that the BCC program should be continued with special focus on content and effectiveness of its message and activities.
