บทคัดย่อ (EN): Natural rubber (NR) was studied for use as rubber seal in the LPG tube valve. The objective was to substitute acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) in the application, thus increase NR consumption in Indonesia. The trials involved evaluating LPG rubber seal prototype which used crumb rubber type of NR (TSR 20), NBR with different acrilonitryle content (NBR2645 and NBR3345), different filler type (carbon black/CB and silica/S) and compatibilizer (CR)or homogenizer (Rhenosin 145A and Rhenosin 260). The composition in each formula was maintained uniform, by composition of NR:NBR: compatibilizer or homoginizer was 30:65:5. In addition, the theoretical hardness of each formula was equal, in spite of the different filler load. The four formulas investigated were compound A (NR:NBR2645:Rhenosin145A:CB), B (NR:NBR2645:Rhenosin260:S), C (NR:NBR3345:CR:CB) and D (NR:NBR3345:CR:S).The compounds were blended by the masterbatch technique and vulcanisedat 1500C (compound A and B) and 1700C (compound C and D). The manufactured dimension of LPG rubber seal prototype was adjusted to the Indonesian Standard of rubber product (SNI 7655:2010). The test on the mechanical properties of the vulcanizate and prototype showed that compound A had reached optimum mechanical properties and met the Indonesian standard of LPG rubber seal.
