บทคัดย่อ (EN): Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Pmg-32 in this study was isolated from the rhizosphere of Mimosa sp., a common weed in rubber plantation. The identification of the isolate was performed by molecular identification using 16S rRNA and gyrB genes. Based on molecular identification, Pmg-32 isolate was closely related to B. amyloliquefaciens subsp. plantarum group. Further objectives of this study were to reveal the potency of B. amyloliquefaciens Pmg-32 as an antagonistic bacteria against Rigidoporus microporus SU-1 isolated from severe infected rubber plant in North Sumatera. R. microporus is the causal agent of white root disease, the most important disease on Hevea rubber. The first potency is the inhibition effectiveness against R. microporus in vitro. B. amyloliquefaciens Pmg-32 was able to suppress the growth of R. microporus mycelium on King’s B, NA, TSA and PDA medium. The inhibition mechanism of these isolate occurred through the extracellular filtrates. The activities of β-endoglucanase and protease enzymes were shown by B. amyloliquefaciens Pmg-32. B. amyloliquefaciens Pmg-32 originating from Mimosa sp. And this was indication a promising antagonistic bacteria to control white root disease in rubber plantation. Application methods of this agent should be developed in the sinergism with Mimosa sp. as a cover crop, especially in an endemic area of white root disease. The other potency need to be revealed in the future is the finding a strong antagonistic isolate of B. amyloliquefacians as an endophytic bacteria from rubber plant.
