บทคัดย่อ: The varietal improvement of pummelo ( Citrus maxima Merr ) project are working in 2006-2010. The objective of the project are new pummelo variety which are high yield, high quality for export and the good pummelo rootstock are including. The varietal improvement of pummelo have 2 subproject. 1. Varietal Improvement of Pummelo have 3 experiment. 1.1 Comparision of selected clone in 6 area. 10 Clone of pummelo from Sukhothai Horticultural Experiment Station comparision with 2 good variety in 6 area, 3 area in Nothern, 1 area in North East, 1 area in central and 1 area in Southern. The experimental design is RCBD 4 replications and 12 Treatments. The result for 5 year of the experiment is 4 clone of pummelo show high growing such as ทช.32, ทช.39, ทช.73 and ทช.130. 1.2 The selection of Thong dee cultivar from the radiation treatment. The scion of Thong dee cultivar are treated by several rate of radiation. The result for 5 years of the experiment is 8 clone of Thong dee cultivars show seed less. 1.3 The selection of hybrid pummelo for new clone. 8 good variety of pummelo are crossing 425 hybrid are testing and selecting for new clone. The result for 5 year of experiment show some hybrid are good growing and some clone begin fruiting. The experiment must be study 2-3 years ahead for suitable data. 2. Research and Development on Rootstocks for Pummelo have 2 experiment. 2.1 Comparision of local pummelo for root rot resistance rootstock. 7 local varieties of pummelo were used as rootstock for 3 good varieties. The experimental design is RCBD, 4 replication and 8 treatment. The result for 5 years of experiment show 7 local pummelo that use as rootstock show good compatible and good growing as good as layering stock plant. 2.2 Study on citrus type family rootstock for thong dee cultivar. 9 Citrus type family are used as rootstock for Thong dee cultivar. The experimental design is RCBD 4 replication and 9 treatment. The result for 5 year of experiment show 2 citrus type family (Thabtim and Cleopattra) that use as rootstock show good compatible and good growing with Thong dee cultivar.
